Back from the Middle of Nowhere. I am currently closing this chapter of my life; that being, the past four years as remote personnel (usually in an emergency medical capacity). Now, I'll be making a break into the public sector (hopefully). I'm wanting to attend nursing school, eventually, and make myself more marketable.
That's not to say that I won't maintain my EMT certification, or that I won't upgrade to Paramedic, at some point, but for right now...for right now, I am tired of distance. Even if my partner's career leaves me alone for half the summer, I am weary of traveling for work, myself. At least, when it comes to "man-camp" type environments. Were I working for an entity that was more in line with a number of things I hold dear, perhaps it would not have come to this stage of burn-out. That, and I have become tired of being one of a few women stationed in a sea of manly men.
Now, it's time to recuperate, and figure out what I want out of life, and "where" that is.
That being said, I'll post more....later.
