'Chilly'

So, I was listening to the radio on the way to class this morning, and the DJ had the nerve to call temperatures of -45 and -50' Fahrenheit 'chilly'... Not that it makes much of a difference after about -20'...beyond that, what temperature it is is purely an academic curiosity. So, for those of you who know where Fairbanks, Alaska is and have experienced the hellishly cold winters (and even for those of you who don't or haven't), here is my 'cold scale', in descending order *patent pending*:

50-40' = 'HELLO, HAWAI'I!'/walking and running weather
36' (the temperature at which water begins to freeze) = 'pleasantly brisk'/insulated biking weather
30' = 'cool'/still t-shirt weather
20' = 'nippy'/might want to put a sweater on
10' = light jacket advisable...wool socks for good measure
0' = 'extra layer'
-10' = 'chilly'
-20' = 'cold'
-25' to -30' = 'insert-string-of-expletives-here COLD!'
-40' or lower = '-what? You're ****ing kidding, right? Forget it. No, seriously, I am NOT getting out of bed. No. NO. Go to hell.'

Feel free to edit as you see fit. Have a wonderful, 'chilly' day. The current temperature is -40, and slated for -50 tonight.
